They were loved to death. So much so that they reciprocated with happiness and even showed glimpses of an occasional smile. A few minutes later they switched their attention to their kids for a few seconds.
They were reprimanded. So they made faces at them emoting their anger. Few minutes passed and the scene repeated. This time, they dared to stare at their parents before continuing with their feast on burgers and french fries.
“Dad, can we just have a walk, hand in hand and just window shop?” Asked Kevin.
His question won his dad’s heart and he happily agreed.
Family time had won over smartphones.

You captured the allure and terror of smart phones in a few words. Glad somone was able to snap out of it!
Thank you so much. Smartphones are indeed a terror which spells doom for many children in some ways or other.
I like this story. I get the impression that it’s the parents who have been engrossed in their mobile phones and the children who have reprimanded them, but I’m not quite sure. I really like stories where the paradigm is inverted like that!
Thank you so much. Yes, you are right. Parents are the ones engrossed in their smartphones and children gets reprimanded.
Sometimes quality time can be a simple walk hand in hand. Nice sentiments here, I enjoyed reading your story.
Thank you so much, James. Children deserves a good time with parents rather than let them be on their own while they spend time on their smartphones.
I was a bit confused as to who was being reprimanded, but I still like the story. You capture the heads in the phone scene that we see way too often. Nice job
Thank you so much. It is the parents engrossed in their smartphones and children that gets reprimanded.
Parents are busy with the phones and children enjoying their burger, fries and family time. It is usually other way. Nice.
There is hardly any family time when smartphones get involved. Buy yes, the boy choose to spend a time walking with his dad.
Yes, I thought it was the parents on the phones – and thought that was an intriguing twist.
Thank you so much. I am glad that you liked the story and the twist in it.
Fantastic piece with a great twist. Well put together.
Thank you so much.
Loved the twisting of the stereotypes.
Thank you so much.
Mom and dad needed a reality check, and they got one. Lovely story.
Yes, indeed. I am glad that you liked the story.
