Where is my Zeal? – A to Z Challenge

I stare at the mirror

Seeing myself grow

Centimeters by centimeters

And I squeal at myself

I stare at the stars

With a lovely companion

Tightly holding ourselves

To storm any situation

I stare at life

Smiling at the ups and downs

Learning things

The hard way

In the process

I found everything

Fame, money, respect, but

Cannot find my innocence

It was an indirect

Proportion to age,

Time, fame and money

Weighing down a gem

So, O Lord, trade these

And return a gem – my zeal

For all I want is some good

Old days of pure innocence
