old shoes

Photo prompt – Sarah Potter

He selected the shoes he liked. He was on cloud nine.

Time had changed for him, but that did not stop him from remembering those days of staying in an orphanage. He knew the life there.

He blessed the family for the hundredth time that had gifted him a pair of white worn-out shoes, 30 years ago. That gesture had resulted in him studying footwear designing.

Sir, shall I pack these 30 pairs?

The voice brought him back from his reverie.

Yes, please do, Renie. You know the address of the orphanage, right?

Renie nodded and Kevin gave him a childlike smile.

Here’s another edition of Friday Fictioneers, hosted by the lovely Rochelle Wisoff – Fields. Much thanks to Sarah Potter for this week’s prompt.
