The writing was on the wall and
I had many walls in my home
Each of them yelled at me,
What about the finances, bills and other petty expenses?
Other times I would worry, but today the things are different.
And so,
I shooed them away with a flick of my hair
A trait I borrowed from the missus;
‘Get lost! I am going to be a father’, I said to the walls
So what if there will be only single income to sustain the family?
Don’t you dare doubt my capabilities,
Dear walls!
For the doors and windows and walls
Are now open to supreme happiness
As I lay awake on the bed
Gleaming wide eyes dreaming about
Welcoming the little one abode.
Such a lovely short n nice poem Rohan !!
Oh! Yes, Welcoming a new member is both a joyous and brave decision. While there are material things to be managed, the heart wants, what it wants 🙂

Aww, that’s lovely, the line about the walls shouting at you made me laugh out loud, i was not expecting that! ~Liz

it’s nice to read from a father’s point of view too. Loved that part about flip of hair 🙂
Wow, That’s so sweet. Lovely poem, Rohan 🙂
