Tattered life
Pavement is my abode
Peacefully I sleep,
Torn clothes
Yet an untattered heart,
I beg ten
I donate five

Torn to tatters clothes
Draw a parallel with life
Heart yearns for some green

He flicked across a drop of sweat that was threatening to roll down, as he packed his bag and took a long walk back to his abode. All along the way while walking, he thought of the words that he had just scribbled. Should I donate some? Should I keep more for myself? Will I ever get to see some green and lead a lavish life?
He could not find any answers to his questions today but was sure that sometime in near future he will find the answers. He perched himself on the roots of a huge banyan tree, his abode. The day was about to turn dark and before it did, he removed a book, ticked across today’s date and the objective of the day. Satisfied with himself and the tattered life and day, he started munching on some peanuts that he had bought after begging for five hours in the morning.
‘Hmm… Mr. CEO, from tomorrow, get ready to wash some utensils at people’s home for a month’, uttered Ram to himself as he rested his back against the bark of the banyan tree. ‘Are you up for the challenge?’ Ram teased himself, showing a wide smirk on his face, as he remembered his father saying the same sentence to all his employees, before handing the reins of the business to him.

Ram, who always thinks out of the box, had decided to leave the post of CEO for a year, to lead a less lavish and a more ordinary life. He had decided to do chores that he had never done in his life and note the learnings from it with the aim of implementing it in his business and life.
Interesting take on the prompt. What the world needs are more people who can think out of the box.
A different kind of bucket list……definitely an interesting take on the prompt…..I liked it.
Wow! I wish many think the same way as him. Brilliant take on the prompt, Rohan 🙂
Different take on the prompt Rohan. There is hardly anyone like him.
A unique take on the prompt. Well-written.
What an interesting take this is! The world needs more people who can empathize and understand those from different walks of life.
Ah ha …
This is a different take…
And I hope that I see much more people this way !!
The world needs some 🙂
That untattered heart that donates half and still finds happiness and peace within is truly blessed. 🙂
You have rightly summed, Leo. Thanks for dropping by 🙂
Interesting wish list…!! I would want to know what Ram learnt or felt after his year long stint as washing vessel.
Wow, nice but then how many would actually do something like this willingly? I know of two characters one from fiction novel and the other from real life ???? Great Post Rrohan thank you for writing and sharing.
