Review: His Drunken Wife is the book 2 in five novella series ‘Marriages Made in India’. You can read the review of her book 1 in the series named ‘The Smitten Husband’ here.
The blurb of the book intrigued me a lot. It gave me a sense of some strong story-line with a drunken wife and a caring husband along with some hot romance. So I grabbed the book and after reading it, I must say, the author once again has managed to wow me with the story, with the love and the romance. So kudos to the author for making me crave for more of such truly romantic series.
His Drunken Wife is a story about love at first sight where Abhimanyu falls for Shikha when he first sees her at his office. But on the contrary, Shikha does not see him anywhere close to even like him. Slowly, when she realizes that Abhimanyu is an extremely rich guy and can take good care of her, she agrees to his marriage proposal. What starts is a journey of love, hot and steamy sex, lots of alcohol, a bit of pain and then two souls melting in to one heart.
The two main protagonists, Abhimanyu and Shikha are two completely opposite characters and their chemistry, their understanding of each other is nicely developed. Shikha who is so addicted to alcohol, comes across as a brash, bold, short-tempered girl, whereas, Abhimanyu is charming, witty and intelligent. It took me a while to warm up to Shikha, but as I started flipping the pages, I grew in love with their love story.
So I liked how the characters are developed and the story is one unique story I have read in a long time. It has some hot and steamy romance, along with love and lots of drama to keep one flipping pages. Also, there isn’t any proof reading errors.
Overall: I would recommend His Drunken Wife to one and all, especially who loves reading romantic novels. The book will give you a taste of raw romance, passion and a feeling of belonging to an oyster full of love.
